Dwight took off bright and early Thanksgiving morning to fly to Sweden. He only had one connecting flight in Chicago to catch. The flight to Sweden wasn’t so bad, the service was good and Dwight saw the aurora borealis outside his window around Greenland. Dwight was only able to catch a few naps cause he forgot to take his sleep aid. Even though he was tired after they flew past Iceland Dwight couldn’t sleep anymore.

Landing in Sweden was alright. Dwight managed to get at the back of the passport control line. Thankfully to pass the time he was able to text Astrid who was waiting to pick him up. Dwight got this picture once they were settled in the car as well as some self-mastery.
A beautiful Johanna in her car, it should be noted that she got up at 5am to pick Dwight up.
Dwight was quite excited to be in Sweden.
Apparently Dwight’s dad had a kidney stone Friday morning. Dwight would like to dedicate this photo to him since he seems to love power lines so.

While driving thru a tunnel Johanna’s car passed the 10000 km mark on the odometer. Unfortunately Dwight wasn’t quick enough to get his camera to take a good picture so he had to wait until kilometer 100001 outside the tunnel to capture the moment.
Dwight couldn’t quite catch the moment cause they were in a tunnel and he couldn’t get his camera to take a proper picture.
Since it was so early in the morning Johanna decided to take Dwight to the Swedish Temple. They walked around and got some pictures before heading out.

They then went over to see one of Johanna’s friends that had wanted to meet Dwight. However she wasn’t home, apparently Johanna forgot to remind her that Dwight was coming that day. Dwight guesses everyone wasn’t counting down like she was. So the pair went off to Stockholm and checked out a couple of different parts of the city, most especially the old town Dwight was taking pictures.

7-11, though Dwight didn’t see any slurpee machines, apparently their coffee is for real.

We got stuck just outside of here for a few minutes, Dwight occupied some of his time by taking a picture of a sax playing bird sign
Astrid looking very cute applying chapstick
The Swedish castle, they have a very elaborate changing of the guard ceremony that was stumbled upon by Dwight and Astrid.
A statue of Gustaf III we passed getting out of the old town

Then Dwight and Johanna returned back to her friend’s house. They spent quite a bit of time there or around there. Johanna saw quite a few people she hadn’t seen in awhile. Unfortunately for Dwight he had only been gone about 24 hours at this point and had two meals on the plane, breakfast with Johanna, McDonald’s (Dwight thinks their fries taste better here), and since he doesn’t know any Swedish he couldn’t politely decline Elin’s dinner. Which also included dessert. Johanna’s mum would also have a dessert snack with some coke for Dwight to try and fit in his mouth later on.

Naomi and Elin looking silly for the camera. Dwight doesn’t think Naomi knows Dwight has a blog that he is going to post this to.

After visiting the temple again since it was dark Dwight got to meet Johanna’s parents and a friend that lives there. Dwight also got to try his hand at the Peugeot’s steering wheel to get the pair to Falun which is quite some distance from Stockholm et. al.
Johanna says, "good morning"
stay tuned for part two which is promised to be less picture filled since Dwight has taken considerably less photos.
